Devlog 13# : Lucky thirteen?

Hey there!

It's the middle of April, and I feel like it's high time for a devlog and an update on Progress.

Once again Tales of Unity is on the side until Project: Jericho comes out, so there won't be any news regarding it for now, just know that 0.11 will be completed soon after P:J's 0.1.

Project Jericho:

I've been able to work for two full weeks straight.

In a single two weeks I already did the equivalent of ToU's 0.11 minus the scenes.

It's good to finally be able to boot up studio and get some renders out there!

I'm pretty happy with the current size of Project: Jericho, and while it's not completed yet I feel like it's already a pretty chunky build, still missing a lot of major points though.

I just looked back at the first post ever for Tales of Unity, I used to produce 200 renders in two month.

I am actually pretty impressed at how little that is, if you're wondering, P:J so far has:

More than 350 renders ready

2 Animations done

3 Different songs used

And over 1900 lines, Tales of Unity had 1500 lines and 200+ renders for it's 0.1 if I remember correctly.

So it's a major step forward.

I still cannot, or actually refuse to give a release date for the beta, I don't want to disappoint anyone with another "fake release", had I kept my promises 0.11 would've been out by November.

I'd say that I'm 60% into P:J's development, and I am aiming for a BETA release for 20$ Patrons mid May.

With of course the update being available for 10$ patrons a bit later, and I'm considering opening it for 5$ patrons after a month, buit I'm unsure, I think it'll depend.

If the flow keeps going, I'll probably have a public build by July, I hope I'll be able to deliver.

Regarding patrons:

I feel like I very often wronged the people that pledged money and attention to my projects, sure I was in a rough spot, but it was no excuse, but I want to apologize once again for this, it was not worthy of me.

I sort of paid for it by losing 30% more or less of my patrons since July 2020.

So to make up for it, I think I will slowly offer more private content for patrons, be it actual insight in the code, wallpapers, arts and of course access to early builds.

My goal is to get back to where I was a few month back, when I could go a full month without actively struggling.

I want people to feel rewarded for pledging to me, and to feel like their input directly flows inside the project, and I want you to feel special by getting access to content others cannot see.

I'm thinking about adding perhaps patreon only scenes inside the game or special renders, I don't know I still need to think about it!

So expect more frequent news because I actually feel like I can handle it now.

My workflow and personnal life:

As mentioned I got therapy starting august 2022.

And it's been doing wonders, while bad days still happen, for a while now I've been feeling, fullfilled.

I ALWAYS work atleast 40 minutes every day, it's not much, but it beats my 40 minutes per week from before.

I used to boot studio, feel discouraged, only to close it off and do something else, or sometimes, do nothing.

Now I boot studio, feel discouraged, but force through it, and work gets done.

I am also feeling much less stressed IRL, which allows for a better workflow, I get more ideas and I'm way more patient with work to make sure I get my best out there.

Overall mostly if not only positives, I remain cautious as fulfillement is as fleeting as despair.

I hope you too, precious reader get to enjoy a fulfilling day, week, month year or even life.

Thank you for reading me and take care.
